"We’re lucky to have Boniface" — Leverkusen

Super Eagles’ bulky striker, Victor Boniface has received accolades from German side, Bayern Leverkusen following his extra-time winning goal against FC Cologne last night, bsnsports.com.ng gathers. 

The goal getter made history with a 98 minutes strike which fetched his side a semi-final slot in the ongoing German DFB Cup. The duel which ended 2-2 in regular duration, also saw his team mate, Patrik Schick recorded a brace which served as a comeback to the Bundesliga defending champion.

With this iconic display, the club via verified Twitter handle celebrated the duo by hinting on their qualities. The post saw the striker’s smiling before the camera with a caption which reads; “ Imagine you had two strikers like this though.” 

With this latest achievement, the Nigerian striker will be aiming to increase his Leverkusen goal tally to 23 in all competitions since joining from Union SG in the 2023/2024 summer, while Schick who has recorded 107 appearances will be poising for more to increase his 57 goal tally. 

The duo, will on Saturday lace their boots for league action against host, Wolfsburg. Both players have inspired Xabi Alonso side to 2nd on the league table.
