Nigeria's table tennis star, Aruna Quadri, has regained his position as Africa's highest-ranked player in the latest rankings released by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Earlier this year, Quadri lost his top African ranking to Egypt's Omar Assar after falling to him in the African Cup final.

However, his impressive performance in the recent WTT Contender tournament has propelled him back ahead of Assar.

According to the updated rankings, Quadri now holds the 18th spot in the world, surpassing Assar, who has dropped to 19th.

The Nigerian Olympian will have another chance to further improve his ranking when the WTT Contender Chennai kicks off in India next week.
