Calvin Bassey Hails Rangers Win Against Old Firm Rivals Celtic
Ibrahim Lateef
Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey was excited to hear that Rangers had defeated Celtic on Sunday afternoon, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Rangers took a 2-0 lead within the first 37 minutes, thanks to goals from Nicolas Raskin and Mohammed Diomande.
However, the hosts managed to equalize in the second half, with both teams striving for the winner.
Ultimately, it was the Light Blues who secured victory through one of the substitutes introduced by interim manager Barry Ferguson.
Bassey, a former Rangers player, was delighted with the outcome. After finishing his own match for Fulham, Bassey, 25, learned about Rangers' triumph over Celtic.
He started in Fulham's 2-0 Premier League win against Tottenham Hotspur.
As he left Craven Cottage, a Sky Sports presenter informed him of the score. Michael Bridge shared a clip on social media of this moment.
The journalist said, “Calvin, you were playing earlier; I have some news. Celtic 2, Rangers 3!”
Bassey responded enthusiastically, “Come on, boys!”
