The State has dropped the theft charges against Danny Jordaan, president of the South African Football Association (SAFA), and his co-accused, Gronie Hluyo, SAFA's Chief Financial Officer, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This development was announced during a court hearing on Friday. Jordaan, Hluyo, and businessman Trevor Neethling, a former journalist, appeared at the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Palm Ridge.

State advocate Moagi Malebati confirmed that the charges had been amended, with the three theft charges against Jordaan and Hluyo being withdrawn.

However, the two SAFA officials still face three counts of fraud and one charge of conspiracy to commit fraud.
