Dennis Shares How Yakubu Inspired His Career

Newly signed Blackburn Rovers forward Emmanuel Dennis has opened up about the influence former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni had on him, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Dennis recently joined the English Championship club on loan from Nottingham Forest, a team where Yakubu also had a notable stint during his career.

In an interview with Rovers TV, Dennis expressed how watching Yakubu during his youth had a significant impact on him.

 “Yakubu played here, and growing up, I watched him a lot. It’s a club I’ve been familiar with since my time in Nigeria, so I was very happy they wanted me, and I was eager to join,” Dennis shared with Rovers TV.

“He scored so many goals! Yakubu is a huge figure in Nigeria and African football. His contributions to the Premier League are remarkable. Watching him inspired me because he was such a talented player.”

Dennis made his debut for John Eustace’s team in a 1-0 defeat to Wolves in the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday.
