Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, has expressed his frustration following Southampton’s 2-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, despite scoring the club’s only goal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Onuachu, who came on as a substitute, found the back of the net for the Saints, but his joy was overshadowed by the disappointing result.

“It’s tough scoring my first goal in front of the home fans and still losing. It’s not good enough—we need to improve as a team and individually,” he told the club’s official website.

“We started well in the first 20 minutes, and it’s hard to explain this loss because we felt confident playing at home and believed we could beat Wolves.

“You could see we were the better team, even though we lost. It’s just not good enough.”

“For the fans and the team, scoring is great, but losing makes it difficult to enjoy. We needed to win this game, and it’s very disappointing.”
