Sevilla FC's medical team has confirmed that Nigerian forward Akor Adams, recently signed from French Ligue 1 club Montpellier, will be sidelined for an extended period due to injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Adams, who joined the Spanish side last week, made his debut for Sevilla in their goalless draw against CD Leganes this past weekend. However, the club revealed that the 22-year-old picked up an injury during a training session on Thursday.

Sevilla's medical statement indicated that both Adams and teammate Sambi Lokonga sustained right thigh injuries during the session.

The Nigerian attacker could face a lengthy recovery, with reports suggesting he may be out for anywhere between 4 to 12 months.
