Lazio Manager Explains Dele-Bashiru's Absence From Super Eagles Squad

Lazio head coach Marco Baroni has revealed why midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was left out of Nigeria's squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The versatile midfielder was omitted from the Super Eagles' final 23-man squad set to face Rwanda and Zimbabwe in the coming days.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Lazio’s UEFA Europa League fixture, Baroni explained that Dele-Bashiru is still dealing with discomfort.

"Dele still has a bit of discomfort. I need to talk to him because I want him to feel completely at ease before returning to the pitch. He still has some pain in his ankle," Baroni stated.

The Nigerian international is expected to rejoin the team fully after the international break.
