The newly formed 13-member committee will also include Prof. Ken Anugweje as an Adviser and Member.

The committee further includes former Olympian Mary Onyali, Hauwa Kulu Akinyemi, Sunday Odebode, and Olalekan Alabi, with Bamiduro Olumide serving as Secretary.

A statement released on Tuesday afternoon highlighted that the selection of committee members was based on their expertise and extensive experience, aimed at ensuring Nigeria's continued success at international competitions with a scientifically-driven reward system.

The statement further noted, "This is one of the key innovations under the leadership of Mallam Shehu Dikko, designed to professionally manage athletes' welfare and training grants moving forward."

The NSC emphasized that the initiative seeks to establish a sustainable system to nurture potential athletes who will represent Nigeria on the global podium.
