Transfer News: Ndifreke Effiong Joins Iraqi Side Newroz SC
Sampson Adedeji
Rivers United forward Ndifreke Effiong has completed his move back to the Iraqi League, joining Newroz Sports Club, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Effiong previously had stints with Al-Naft SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jaw, both in the Middle East.
The towering striker signed with Newroz SC after leaving Nigeria's Premier Football League (NPFL) team, Rivers United.
He was officially introduced by the club following a successful medical examination.
This season, Ndifreke netted four goals and provided one assist in 14 league appearances for Rivers United.
The 26-year-old forward was part of Akwa United’s NPFL championship-winning squad in 2021.
