Nigeria will be represented at the upcoming U17 African Cup of Nations in only a limited capacity, as no Nigerian match officials were included in the referee's list released by CAF, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Golden Eaglets failed to qualify for the tournament after their early exit from the WAFU B regional competition.

With the team out, hopes shifted to Nigerian referees making the officiating list, but once again, none were considered by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The list, announced on Friday morning, includes 17 referees, 18 assistant referees, 10 Video Assistant Referees (VAR), 5 assessors, 6 instructors, 5 CAF staff members, and 3 IT support and VAR technicians.

The tournament is set to take place in Morocco.
