The second round of the 2017/18 Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) will resume on 12th September, 2018, Basic Sports in Nigeria (BSN Sports) can authoritatively report.
The NWPL has been on break due to the FIFA World Cup in Russia as well as the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in France. As both events are over, the women league body announced on Thursday 30th August, 2018 the date when the second round will start.
This is confirmed in a letter made available to www.bsnsports.com.ng signed by the Head of Women football league, Ayo Abdulrahman titled:
"RESUMPTION DATE FOR THE SECOND ROUND OF THE 2017/2018 NIGERIA WOMEN PREMIER LEAGUE", reads:
"You will recall that the Nigeria Women Premier League has been on break due to 2018 FIFA World Cup and FIFA U-20 Women World Cup. Subsequently, those events are over now.
"In view of this development therefore, we wish to inform you that the second round of the 2017/2018 Nigeria Women Premier League will resume on 12th September, 2018.
"Kindly find attached amended fixtures for the second round for more clarification.
"While thanking you for your usual cooperation, please accept our highest sporting regards."
